When you arrive at your first session-either in person or online-you’ll be greeted by a calm, professional space where your comfort is a priority. Our psychologists are here to listen, not to judge. You don’t need to prepare a speech or have all the answers. Just bring yourself.
What Will You Talk About?
Your first session is mostly about getting to know you. We’ll gently explore:
What brought you to therapy
Any current challenges or emotional struggles
Your history with mental health (if any)
Your goals for therapy-whether they’re clear or still evolving
If you’re not sure where to begin, that’s perfectly okay. We’ll guide the conversation in a way that feels natural and respectful.
Building the Foundation
We may also explain our approach to therapy, confidentiality boundaries, and how sessions typically flow. This is a two-way conversation-feel free to ask questions, share concerns, or let us know what you’re hoping to get out of the process.
We believe therapy works best when there’s a strong, trusting connection between client and therapist. Your first session is the beginning of building that partnership.
After the Session
You might feel lighter, more emotional, or simply reflective. All of these reactions are normal. Some clients feel immediate relief, while others may need a few sessions to begin opening up. Everyone’s journey is different-and we’ll meet you exactly where you are.
